Chapter 5. "Flow of Genedc Information"

DNA =============>  RNA ============> Protein

----transcription-------translation-----------

In this chapter we study the flow of genetic information from DNA to RNA where information is read in a three digit code (or codon) to produce a protein. Protein synthesis occurs on ribosomes which are very complex assemblies of RNA and protein. In procaryotic organisms the code is uninterupted but in eucaryotic organisms the code is interupted by introns and generated from exons. The journey begins now.

All cellular RNA is produced by RNA polymerases which take instructions from the template DNA.
