RCRS Email Update: Interesting. Dateline Portland, 28 August 2003

For you readers interested in my 3-D images page, and such like
interests including archaeology, read this one below.  I have
been interested in the way the mind has of making meaningful
images out of random smudges, clouds, rock formations, etc.
I even once found a face on earth!  Right next to the great
wall of China.  Imagine that! But, of course, it is a trick
of the eyes and the mind, because the mind prefers order
over disorder, and randomness is something, evidently, the
mind prefers to organize, thus, voila! a face on mars, a
boat on Ararat, a smiley face in Montana, Idaho, parts of 
Oregon....oh, wait, that was done by aliens, right, I forgot!
But most of these things are not anything.  Just a trick
of the eyes.  Now, so I don't look stupid, I will go see
what this is all about!  rsc

Concerning obtaining a satellite image of Noah's Ark and the Greater Mt.
Ararat (some 18.2 miles apart, center to center), I agree that the Wyatt
Group
could pool money together to accomplish this very important piece of
documentation (which I believe has never been done before, at least not
including the true
Noah's Ark site). My understanding is that there are many commercial
satellites (non-governmental) that upon request can photograph a given
geographic
location. There are many satellite images readily available for purchase,
but
all of these images were someone else's previous request which are now
made
available to the general public for resale. The problem is there are
images
available of the Greater Mt. Ararat, but NONE containing the real Noah's
Ark to the
south. We need to determine which satellite company to order from, the
location and how large the total area is for the satellite to photograph
(including
the Greater Mt. Ararat and Noah's Ark), the best quality (around 1 meter
per
pixel in color), and a reasonable price.
Noah's Ark: Latitude 29° 26' 26" N, Longitude 44° 14' 05.3" E
Peak of Greater Mt. Ararat: Latitude 39° 42' N, Longitude 44° 18' E
Anchor Stone #1: Latitude 39° 37' 31.6" N, Longitude 43° 59' 42.2" E
I just found in one of my file folders a diagram I made several months ago
of
the geographic layout of the Ararat region. The grid (which includes
Noah's
Ark, the Greater Mt. Ararat, and just outside the grid to the left is
Anchor
Stone #1) is about 26.4 miles horizontally and 34.5 miles vertically. If
my
calculations are correct, each box in the grid is 8.8 miles horizontally
and
11.5 miles vertically (these measurements vary depending on the geographic
location). "Degrees" (°) are divided into 60 "Minutes" (') which are
divided into
60 "Seconds" ("). The following represents a 3 X 3 grid:

39° 20' N
